Every religion shares a basic flaw: they base their promises on what we can do to earn them. Work harder. Dig deeper. Give more. Then maybe—maybe—you'll reach enlightenment, merge with the divine, or earn your way into heaven.
But what happens when our best isn’t good enough? No matter how hard we try to improve, we see the evidence of our failure in every broken relationship, in every failed attempt to quit our vices, to tell the truth, or to forgive someone who hurt us.
We don’t need another self-improvement plan. We need a savior.
Jesus Christ willingly died on a Roman cross not only to pay for our sins, but to destroy the power of sin that lives in us. Three days later, he rose from the dead to give us a new life - His life. This isn’t religion. It’s a transformation, from the inside out. It’s the beginning of a real relationship with God.
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
